Innovative and empowering Workshops for the benefit of Farmers Producers Organisations (FPOs), Officials from Horticulture/Agriculture departments of various state governments are organized regularly for a shorter duration (2-3 days) which include Theory, Demonstrations and Hands-on-sessions.

Also CSIR-CFTRI has been a partner in the cluster development activities in coordination with state government bodies. The services provided include : Technology upgradation, Skill development, soft intervention and capacity building in the area of food processing.

The broad objectives covered under this portfolio are :

• Ensure sustainability and growth of small scale units
• Address the technology competitiveness, skill development, regulatory requirements, market access and access to capital infrastructure.
• Support the formation of SHGs, FPOs and related trade/farmers-centric associations.
• Create/upgrade infrastructural facilities and establish common facility centres
