Expertise

Obesity, especially childhood obesity has been a real concern in our country. Molecular studies leading to understanding of how energy homeostasis can be shifted towards well being is important to bring in interventions to prevent fat accumulation. Our studies focus on the ability of select satiety peptides and documented lipid accumulation lowering nutraceuticals on diet-induced-obese mice to identify molecular mechanisms that can be used to fight obesity. On the other hand, ketogenic food formulations have been evaluated in DIO-C57BL/6 mice and found to be effective in lowering body weight. This can lead to formulation of food products that can help obese subjects.
