ಸಿಎಸ್ಐಆರ್ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಕಚೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಾವೀನ್ಯತೆ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಘಟಕ (ಐಪಿಯು) ಸಿಎಸ್ಐಆರ್ ಪ್ರಯೋಗಾಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶಗಳಿಗೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೌದ್ಧಿಕ ಆಸ್ತಿ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದರ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ಪೇಟೆಂಟ್‌ಗಳು, ಟ್ರೇಡ್‌ಮಾರ್ಕ್‌ಗಳು, ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹಕ್ಕುಸ್ವಾಮ್ಯಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಸಿಎಸ್ಐಆರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರೀತಿಯ ಬೌದ್ಧಿಕ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.
