The Certificate Award Ceremony of M.Sc (Food Technology) Course and Convocation of International School of Milling Technology Course was held at the IFTTC Auditorium of CFTRI, Mysore on Wednesday, July 9, 2003. Shri D.B.Inamdar, Minister of State for Tourism and Information Technology, Government of Karnataka was the Chief Guest and Dr.V.Prakash, Director, CFTRI presided over the function.
Shri Inamdar, after launching the e-college, mentioned that the value of food losses in India because of under-utilisation of the existing and emerging technologies is equivalent to the economy of several countries of the world.
Gold medals and certificates were awarded to the students of M.Sc. (Food Tech) course by Shri D.B. Inamdar. Ms. Monica Verma secured four gold medals each sponsored by Dr.Girdharilal Gold Medal, Adeline Siemens Hulse Gold Medal, Nirula's Foundation Gold Medal & Ahn Peoung UG Gold Medal. Ms. Ritu secured Prof.Dr. Jiwan S.Sidhu Gold Medal. Ms. Sushmita Behera secured Dr.J.S.Pruthi Gold Medal, and Ms. Puneet Sharma was awarded CFTRI Alumni Association Silver Medal.
Dr. V. Prakash mentioned about the achievements of CFTRI, highlighting its HRD programmes and their benefits not only our country but also about 50 developing countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

This year, the CFTRI Alumni Association Silver Medal is awarded to Ms. Puneet Sharma, 2nd Year M.Sc (Food Technology) student of 2001-03 batch. This award is instituted by Dr. M. C.
