CFTRI alumni association felicitates Prof. Nevin Scrimshaw:
Prof. Nevin Scrimshaw was felicitated by the CFTRI alumni association on November 17, 2005 at the IFTTC Auditorium,
International Hostel Complex, CFTRI, Mysore in recognition of his contribution to the nutritional programme in the early 1960s.
Dr. V. Prakash, Chief Patron of CFTRI Alumni Association honoured Prof. Scrimshaw with a inscribed silver plate. Mrs. Mary Scrimshaw,
alumni as well as the current M.Sc. Food Technology students graced the occasion.
Prof. Nevin Scrimshaw's contribution to the development of nutritional products for children was highlighted amongst his contributions
to the field of nutrition. Prof. Scrimshaw recollected his experiences at CFTRI and rest of the world. He expressed his concerns regarding
the various lifestyles and poverty related nutritional problems faced by Indian population today.
The programme was presided by the Chief Patron, Dr. V. Prakash, Director, CFTRI, Mysore while Dr. W.E. Eipeson, President, Alumni
Association welcomed the gathering. Mr. G.A. Krishna, Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. Later Prof. Scrimshaw shared his
experiences with the students on various issues.
